Empire Earth is a real-time strategy and city building game that was developed by the award winning, German game company, Phenomic Interactive. The player can choose to play on one of three large maps with different landscapes, climates, and historical periods. The goal of the game is to build an empire that rules over all other civilizations on earth by defeating all their rivals in combat, economic means or diplomatic means. The player has no control over which civilization they start out as or where they start on the map but can choose one of four races: Humans (the Europeans), Atlanteans (the inhabitants), Crystals (a highly technological race with some human qualities) and Giants (a prehistoric race whose culture was completely unique). Humanity is the most common race and is spread across all parts of the world. Atlanteans are a large race that was advanced by advanced technology. They were the first humanoids to discover the use of metals and created advanced weapons such as guns, cannons and cannons. Crystals were an ancient race that were highly advanced in their metalworking and creating unique architectural designs. Giants were a primitive race that were largely unknown and very little was known about them except for what could be observed on the maps. The player may choose from one of three difficulty levels : easy, medium and hard. The difficulty level only sets the number of opponents on each map and what bonuses the player may get from being on a map for a long period of time. In the beginning, the player has a town center which is used to produce villagers that may gather resources or new buildings that require workers to actually produce new buildings. The player starts out with a maximum population limit of 25 and by increasing this population limit they may have more villagers working at one time. Villagers have no attack value but they have a small amount of health which gets stronger depending on the civilization chosen in the beginning. Once they have gathered enough resources, the player may choose to build new buildings such as the farm, stable, walls or towers. All buildings require workers to produce food which can be used to feed the villagers so they can live. These buildings may also be converted into military buildings which will increase the defense of their civilization. Some buildings require technologies to be researched by a builder so that they may unlock the building and research it. This technology tree is an important step in advancing because it unlocks more technologies and warriors for combat but for this tree to advance, certain prerequisites must be met such as a certain population limit or a certain building must already have been constructed. This means that the player's empire cannot be expanded indefinitely and the player must balance it to do as much as they can without unlocking too many buildings or research methods. Once enough resources and workers have been gathered, the player may choose to build a military encampment. The number of military units (soldiers and warriors) your civilization can produce is determined by the civilization, terrain, whether buildings are upgraded or not and if you start out with mercenaries or not. The higher the tech level, the more units your civilization can produce at once. If you choose to upgrade your buildings, this will increase their output as well as increase how many units you can train/produce at once. eccc085e13
